After House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) sent a letter to President Trump last week asking him to postpone the State of the Union Address to the Joint session of Congress, anger from both sides was swift, as it was unprecedented to dis-invite a sitting President of the United States of America to update Congress on the State of the Union! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi cited security concerns, but those claims were countered when the House Sergeant in Arms, the United States Secret Service, and the Department of Homeland Security quickly said that no one had ever contacted them about the security concerns over the State of the Union, and all three said that everything was on track for the President to address Congress and the nation! “Senior DHS official says the Secret Service is ready for President Trump’s State of the Union on January 29 and that no one from Nancy Pelosi’s office checked with the Secret Service before requesting delay.”

Within a few hours, House Majority leader Steney Hoyer (D-MD) made a bold claim and insinuated that the Democrats were ‘holding the State of the Union hostage, as he told CNN that the State of the Union was effectively canceled until President Trump agreed to re-open the government. Hoyer said…
“The State of the Union is off,” then adding that President Trump could not convince them to schedule it until Trump reopened the government.
After coming under intense pressure and a backlash from the American people, Hoyer retracted his comment about it being canceled. Instead, he tried to again blame it on security and then said that they hadn’t gotten a reply from the President. It stated…
“No, I don’t think it’s officially off we — I had not seen the speaker’s letter. What she suggests is a real security problem, unless we’ve opened up the government. Uh So — and we haven’t gotten a reply from the president and his thoughts. So, it’s not officially off, no.”

However, Pelosi continued to refuse to say if she would allow the President to give the address to Congress and the nation next Tuesday night! Therefore, President Trump began preparations for using an alternative site to deliver the State of the Union!
Senator Rand Paul, along with his fellow Republican colleagues offered to let the President use the Senate Chambers to deliver the address, as well as numerous State legislatures offering their Capitol buildings! However, new reports are indicating that President Trump is contemplating something much better, and more appropriate! In fact, reports indicated that although the President was still considering using the House Chamber, depending on Pelosi, he had also set his sights on delivering the State of the Union from Texas, near the US/Mexico border region, to highlight the need to secure the border, as well as the reopen government and pay the 800,000 federal workers who have been without pay for a month! Already, President Trump has pointed out the humanitarian and national security crisis at the border, but Democrat leadership has vowed to give the President nothing in regards to his requests to secure the border and build a border wall or barrier! Also, Pelosi and Schumer have now refused to meet with or negotiate AT ALL with the President or Republicans over the shutdown and border security, leaving the President waiting for Democrats, but with no hope of an end in sight!
Ultimately, under the Constitution, it indicates that a President is to deliver the State of the Union to Congress, but it doesn’t state exactly how it is delivered! In fact, it could be in writing or delivered to Congress directly as has been done for years, or any method of the Presidents choosing. Now, according to the Daily Mail, they had reported that President Trump had begun both a ‘Plan A’, which would have entailed him delivering the State of the Union from the House Chambers or ‘Plan B’ if Pelosi refused to re-instate the Presidents invitation, which she has now done.
The House Sergeant at Arms was asked earlier this week by the White House to do a walk-through at the Capitol, which indicated that the Presidents Administration was continuing to proceed with delivering the traditional speech to a Joint Session of Congress, but now, being Nancy Pelosi has officially dis-invited the President from giving the State of the Union from the House Chamber, which she now controls, it was expected that he would do so elsewhere!

Already, a number of Democrats are concerned, because last year, President Trump gave the performance of a lifetime. His State of the Union Speech was one that went down in the record books because, despite the constant threats and insults hurled by the Progressive-Socialist Left, President Trump stood on the side of American virtue and honor. He spoke of a North Korean inspiration, Seong-ho who had his legs cut off by a train after collapsing from exhaustion while smuggling rice from China to feed his family. Then, only to be tortured by the tyrannical North Korean communist nation. Yet despite all odds, in 2006, with just a simple pair of homemade crutches, he “traveled thousands of miles across China and Southeast Asia to Freedom.”
At the SOTU, Seong-ho had tears could be seen streaming down his eyes as he hoisted the hand-made crutches his father made, to the thunderous applause at the State of the Union. A moment that touched the heart of virtually every American. Trump called the story
“a testament to the yearning of every human soul to live in freedom.”
Sadly last year, not all American’s applauded, or even stood. Democrats chose to defy honor and remain seated as the President talked of showing respect to our flag and country. President Trump talked of showing respect for our country, family, and God. Democrats shocked many in the nation as they chose to sit on their hands, frown, and many playing on their smartphones. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called the President’s speech ‘dangerous’, and on MSNBC, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) said Trump used “ugly” fear-mongering on immigration, religion, and patriotism to “divide.” Also, Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) walked out of the SOTU address amid chants of “USA!” “USA!” “USA!”, and a majority of the Democrats dishonored their office by booing the President’s speech several times throughout his address, which set a new unprecedented low in America. In fact, at one moment President Trump was talking to the parents of a murdered child by an illegal alien MS-13 gang member, and the Democrats quickly stopped booing, but they refused to stand out of respect. Robert Mickens, the father of Nisa Mickens, said that he was disappointed with the Democrat Party’s response to his tragedy. He stated:
“I thought it was very disrespectful. For the simple fact that the Democrats who were there and did not stand up, they were African-Americans. So that hurt me a lot… Regardless of how they feel about the president, they should show respect, because I would show them the respect if that was their loved one.”
In addition, the Congressional Black Caucus members refused to stand or applaud when President Trump announced the huge drop and record low unemployment rates for black Americans. Then to make matters worse, the Mainstream media attacked the President’s speech. For example, Joy Reid said…
“Church … family … police … military … the national anthem … Trump trying to call on all the tropes of 1950s-era nationalism. The goal of this speech appears to be to force the normalization of Trump on the terms of the bygone era his supporters are nostalgic for. #SOTU”
She went on to say that ‘family values’ were “backward looking. Has the Progressive-Left gone so far off of its hinges that it thinks that something so important as the family is an outdated and nationalistic trope? If so, it shows just how far out of touch Joy Reid, the Mainstream Media, and the Democratic party has become. NBC’s Chuck Todd said that Trump’s speech “set things back,” and that he “offended a lot of Democrats.” Not really a surprise since they openly are claiming to be fighting against Christians, family, and American values. Media Research Center President Brent Bozell said:
“The media’s overwrought, liberal bias was on full display Tuesday night in their reaction to President Trump’s State of the Union address. The President delivered a promising, powerful speech that resonated with most of America. 75% of Americans approved of his address yet ABC, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC’s coverage was overwhelming critical. This is more evidence of how out of touch the media have become. These “journalists” live in their own elitist bubble and the public sees right through it.”
Now, a year later, the Marxists in our nation have elevated their attacks against President Trump and the American people by trying to deny the President his Constitutional right to address Congress and the American people about the ‘State of our Union’! A right under Article II of the U.S. Constitution, which describes the singular duty that has evolved into a formal speech each winter. It says that…
“The president ‘shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient”.
Ultimately, while the Democrats under the leadership of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has made history by failing to allow the President his right, duty, and obligation to address the American people and Congress of the ‘State of the Union’, it will likely not play well, in the hands of the American people, as now the Democrat Party has shifted to the most extreme end of the ideological spectrum, as they are now controlled by the most radical Marxist fringes of their Party!
