On Tuesday, Republican’s proposed a bill that would fix the 1970’s era immigration problem that forced illegal alien children to be separated from their families. However, despite Democrats, Fabian Rino’s, and Mainstream Media crying foul over the family separation policies that were approved by the Bush Administration, and allowed by the Obama Administration, Democrats rejected a bill designed to keep illegal immigrant families together on the border. In fact, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that President Trump should fix the legislation himself, despite Congress being the actual branch of government tasked with writing the laws, and President Trump is supposed to implement the laws. He wrote…
“There are so many obstacles to legislation and when the president can do it with his own pen, it makes no sense. Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it.”
Charles Schumer (D-NY), Senate Democratic Leader
Furthermore, when Schumer was asked if his comments meant that he wouldn’t support Republican legislation to keep immigrant families together while seeking asylum, Chuck Schumer said they want to keep the focus on Trump.
“Again, the president can change it with his pen. Unacceptable additions have bogged down every piece of legislation we’ve done.”
Charles Schumer (D-NY), Senate Democratic Leader
Why would the Democrats call for an end to a policy that they claim is so horrendous, and so heinous? The fact is, they never really cared about the law in the first place.
To understand the history of the ‘child separation law’, you have to go back to 1997. At the time, President Clinton was in office, and the Flores Consent Decree was issued in court. A court decree that stated that unaccompanied immigrant children can be held for 20 days. They said that it was in an effort to help protect the children from criminal aliens, and human trafficking. Then, the left-wing Ninth Circuit Court made a ruling that extended the 20-day period to children who come as part of illegal alien family groups as well. So, as you see, this is a matter of law, not any sort of “new” Trump policy.
Also, the media and democrats fail to mention that the laws that are on the books today, were actually signed and put into effect in 2008, when former President George W. Bush was the President, and when the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress.
Then, in 2014 even then President Barack Obama’s Administration blamed the Bush Administration’s law known as “Trafficking Victims Prevention Reauthorization Act”, that was signed into law by Bush in 2008 for the sudden influx of unaccompanied minors at the border. However, Obama failed to mention the fact that the legislation was designed, debated, and passed by the Democrat led Congress in both houses. and unopposed by his own Administration.
Trump Administration Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen said that the law was in desperate need of reform, but Congressional Republicans have been unable to pass any meaningful border security and immigration reform legislation, because the Democrats and a handful of Rino-Republicans like John McCain have blocked any meaningful legislation from reaching President Trump’s desk. Schumer says that it should be fixed by a stroke of the pen by the President, but his Executive order only partially fulfills the problem, and requires legislative action by Congress.
Now, it is becoming more and more evident that Schumer and his fellow Progressive Democrat ‘Resistance’ will fight any policy that President Trump implements, at least as long as it falls short of America giving up its sovereignty and opening our borders to the world, by ending his “zero tolerance” illegal immigration policy.
Meanwhile, Democrats are trying to keep up the anti-Trump narrative, rather than Congress doing its job of fixing the existing laws. Democrats want to keep the pressure on Trump instead of having Congress assume responsibility for the growing crisis.
Trump claims the burden is on Congress to keep immigrant children from being separated from their parents after 20 days if they are detained by law enforcement.
On Monday, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said…
“Congress alone can fix it.”

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that he agreed with the administration, and called for reform in his effort to keep the illegal families together. He said…
“I support, and all of the senators of the Republican conference support, a plan that keeps families together.” He added, “We need to fix the problem and it requires a legislative solution.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
In all, the Republicans are fighting for a bill that would solve the problem of separation, and keep illegal immigrant families together, in a humane setting, as they wait for an immigration judge. Also, the Republican’s are fighting to expedite hearings, as to minimize the illegal immigrant’s detention time. Regardless, Schumer (D-NY) dismissed their agenda, and blocked their ability to fix the problem.
Meanwhile, the Administration and Immigration enforcement have been fighting more than 148 cases since April, where adults posing as children’s family, when they were of no relation.
After President Trump signed an Executive Order on Wednesday that keeps illegal alien children with their families, the Democrats simply dug in, rather than rejoicing.
On Wednesday, the White House announced it is considering executive action to prevent children from being separated from their parents. Later in the day, President Trump signed the Executive Action, which will allow children to stay in detention with their parents for an extended period of time. The President said that this action will allow Congress time to pass legislation to make a more permanent fix for the immigration problem. However, Democrats have vowed to resist their legislation, unless it creates open borders.
Some are concerned that the executive action signed by the President could be undone due to the 1997 order, under the Clinton Administration, but any fight to undo the order would certainly make the Democrats look bad in their supposed claim to fight to keep illegal alien children with their family. Also, President Trump said that his executive order will not affect his “zero-tolerance” prosecution policy, and it will stay in place.
Regardless of the President fixing the stated concerns of the Democrats, they are still railing against the him and his Administration. Needless to say, because the Trump administration prosecutes illegal border crossers at a 100 percent rate, leftists are now complaining and saying that families shouldn’t be detained at all. That means that Democrats want anyone who crosses the border with children should be allowed into the country (NO BORDERS), and allowed to roam free without penalty, prosecution, or deportation. The Mainstream Media and Democrats immediately began attacking the President after his ending separation of children from their families. Those attacks included…
“this executive order does not end the zero tolerance policy — everyone will continue to be prosecuted which puts a serious strain on resources.”
Katie Hunt, MSNBC
“it does not reverse his zero tolerance policy and so we’re still going to have some really critical issues to deal with relating to … families with young children.”
Senator Tammy Baldwin (WI-D) on CNN
the executive order “appears to be the next step in the Trump administration’s larger agenda to eliminate basic protections for asylum seekers.”
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)
Therefore, now that the President has done what the Democrats complained about, they are now crying foul and demanding that he ends his “Zero Tolerance” policy, and open America’s borders. For example, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said…
“The President’s Executive Order seeks to replace one form of child abuse with another. Instead of protecting traumatized children, the President has directed his Attorney General to pave the way for the long-term incarceration of families in prison-like conditions.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
Even before the President released the Executive Order, the Progressive left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) blasted the Executive Order, and argued for the Administration to release all illegals. They stated…
President Trump has been brought to his knees because of the lawsuit we filed on February 26 and the ensuing public outcry. Kids should not have been separated from their parents in the first place and they still don’t belong in jail. His alleged solution to a crisis of his own making is many months too late. It is a crisis that should not have happened to begin with. He has caused irreparable damage to thousands of immigrant families.
The devil is in the details. This crisis will not abate until each and every single child is reunited with his or her parent. An eleventh-hour executive order doesn’t fix the calamitous harm done to thousands of children and their parents. This executive order would replace one crisis for another. Children don’t belong in jail at all, even with their parents, under any set of circumstances. If the president thinks placing families in jail indefinitely is what people have been asking for, he is grossly mistaken.
ACLU
Interesting, since they hadn’t even read what was in the Executive Order, despite their blasting it as terrible. Also, it addressed the problem that they originally addressed, which was created by previous Administrations and a Democrat controlled Congress. Additionally, the President’s EO actually expedites the illegal aliens court hearings in order to be able to deport many of them more expeditiously.
Meanwhile, the American Immigration Council attacked the Executive Order by calling it “cruel and unnecessary”, since it prosecuted all border crossers, rather than opening the border to illegals.
Now, as a result of the Progressive Democrats and their Mainstream Media allies, government’s like El Salvador have announced that they will not accept the illegals from their country, until they have been re-united with their children. The reality is that South American countries don’t want them returned, because more people creates a bigger strain on their government. They would rather strain the United States and American’s, therefore, they are using Democrat talking points to attack the sitting Administration.
Especially since the deportations of illegals requires travel documents that only their countries of origin can provide. However, El Salvador will not issue those documents until the Trump Administration can demonstrate that the illegals have been re-united with their children. The problem lies in the fact that the Administration and Immigration enforcement cannot know who to re-unite without those documents. Is what that means, is El-Salvador is using the Democrats to deny the return of any illegals who have entered the United States illegally. As a result, President Trump, his Administration, and Immigration Enforcement will struggle to clear the family cases on the docket.
Now, the tables are likely turning, as a new Rasmussen poll shows a majority of American’s blame illegal immigrant parents for the child crisis on the border, and not the United States government. It shows a total of 54% of voters polled, believe that parents are responsible for the problem, while only 34% blame the government. Also, 54 percent of voting Americans agree with President Trump’s assertion that…
“The United States will not be a migrant camp. And it will not be a refugee-holding facility — it won’t be.”
President Donald J. Trump
Therefore, as the Mainstream Media, Progressive left-wing groups like the ACLU, and Democrats push their radical agenda, and try to paint the issue as a Trump problem, American’s are beginning to show that they disagree with them. Furthermore, the more they attack the President for issues that are blatantly not his doing, and as they attack him as he fixes problems created by former Administrations like the Clinton, Bush, and Obama Administrations, American’s are becoming more and more calloused to their radical attacks and preposterous accusations. Especially as they reveal themselves to be the problem, rather than the solution to the many problems that President Trump and his Administration want to, and are trying to resolve. Now, as President Trump is proving himself not-to-be a run of the mill Republican, or allowing himself to cave to the typical Democrat manipulation, Trump is proving to be a man for the people. A President who doesn’t stand for party affiliation or demagoguery, but instead stands for the common men and women of our nation. In the end, President Trump stands for principles, honor, truth, American pride and values, and ultimately, he stands up for We the People of these United States of America.
